Sunburst

I'm making a happy dance tonight, one of my cards has been showcased at Pixie's Snippets Playground. I would like to join this weeks challenge too. There's lots of super inspiration.

This is a first attempt with a sunburst design, the sentiment says "thank you" in Swedish.

Materials used:
Papermania designer paper snippets, I cut them to 1,5" and 3,5" squares, traced the diagonal cut at the backside and cut with a craft knife and metal ruler. The diagonals were glued to a larger snippet and then cut to preferred size. I added Liquid pearls and Stickles. stacked Papermania flowers and added Itsy Bitsy stamens. Nameless butterfly punch and Hero Arts alphabet. QuickCutz corner dies to use for those minimal snippets the flies around on the carft table.

So are you coping the tropical warmth? I'm wilting at work when afternoon comes, but my kind boss allowed me to work from home the last hours. The perk of being a teacher, you can always take your work home as long as you don't have lessons. So, a lemonade anyone? Parsnip have some too :)

Two for Christmas

Hope you're having a pleasant weekend; it's hot, hot, hot here.So I'm being very lazy, reading books and coping with the heat. Household chores brought down to the minimal must do's like bringing food to the table. In between I squeeze in some crafting, my tiny crafty corner is more like a sauna at the moment.

Southern Girls: Christmas is a-coming..
Lexi's Creations: Christmas in July
ABC Christmas Challenge: Obscured (the sentiment)
Simon Says Stamp: Emboss It (embossed Nestie and embossing paste)

Materials used:
Magnolia image coloured with Aqua Markers, Derwent water colour and Inktense pens. Stickles adde for som shine and glitter.
The two panels were made with embossing paste and acrylic colours.
The sentiment was stamped with red Brilliance ink and cut out end embossed with a Nestie circle.
Kaiser Craft half pearls, DQWV cardstock, Joanna Sheen pine dies, ghost leaves, the flowers are kind gifts.

Materials used:
Vilda Stamps Christmas tree stamped with Distress ink, some Stickles and Liquid pearls added.
Tim Holtz alphabet, MME Bella Bella design paper leftover from another project, silver cardstock leftover

Thank you for visiting, it means a lot to me! Hope you're up to something nice, by the way, I saw one of the Monty Python live broadcast shows. They were so fun to see and what a fabulous arena they had, I used to watch them at TV when I was little. Tim Holtz alphabet dies above is almost the same font they had :) Need to find a large foot stamp too!

Show your true colours and let them shine

I love the new rainbow inspired cards that are popping up everywhere this year. Here's my take; we're having a very hot summer in Stockholm and I do appreciate the sun and hot colours. But I wouldn't mind a bit of rain and a rainbow.

Every summer holiday I also go through what I want to achieve until next summer, hence the sentiment.

Challenges:
Less Is More: Dancing in the rain
CASology: Run (dreams can run deep)

Materials used:
Tim Holtz image coloured with Aqua Markers and then spritzed with a golden Perfect Pearl solution, then stamped onto heavy cardstock. The Tim Holtz sentiment was cut in pieces with a craft knife and stamped with Distress Inks.
Itsy Bitsy ribbons added with strong double sided tape.
The corners were cut with EK Success large corner adorner, it works perfectly with heavy card stock, but scrunches lighter papers.

Thank you very much for visiting, hope you're having a wonderful week filled with lots of time for crafting.

Do you see a fish?

Hello sweet crafting friends! Here's a new variation of the earlier cards with suns and dots, do you see a fish? I do! But it's a bee...and I still see a fish with it's fin. In an aquarium or in the sea!

Challenges:
CASology: Pet (fish due to allergy)
Crafty Calendar: Summer Fun (swimming and spot a fish or two)
Cute Card Thursday: Fun in the Sun (swimming and spot a fish or two)
Dream Valley Challenges: Summer (swimming and spot a fish or two)

Materials used:
Paper Smooches free digi image printed with black ink, coloured with Pro Markers, cut out with Nellie Snellen die, some Liquid Pearls added for the special shiny fish feeling.

The background is made with Hero Arts large rain drop stamp; the top corner coloured with Tumbled Glas Distress ink, the diagonal with Broken China DI and bottom corner with Stormy Sky. I used the large ink pads and dream of the smaller ones, they are so cute.

The background and circle are mounted on snippets, great way to use bits you don't like, stack them up behind more interesting things.

Have a lovely evening and try to see if you can use a stamp for something it isn't designed for.

Christmas Trees

Hiya, I'm back with another Christmas card today. The very talented card maker SARN kindly let me use her design. Her card is very beautiful. As it usually is in blogland, I made a few alterations when the card making flow hit. The sentiment says "Happy Christmas" in Swedish.

Challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year 'Round: Non traditional colours
Simply Create Too: Christmas in July
Sweet Stampin' Challenge: Christmas in July

Materials used:

Vilda Stamps Christmas tree stamped with embossing ink and a mixture of pearl and glitter embossing powder. Stickles for added sparkle.

A cut out mask to cover the tree and then stamp the Inkylicious trees with Memento London Fog, some Liquid Pearls added to look like snow on the ground.

A square mask made of copy paper and the adding strokes of Distress ink with make up sponge. White Sakura pen for dots to make it look like it's snowing.

Retired sentiment stamped with Distress ink. The velvet ribbon is from a boutique in Gran Canaria, I don't remember the make, it was Spanish me think.

Thank you for visiting, I'll hopefully be back with a new card tomorrow, you can tell I'm on Holiday with lots of time for crafting.

Vintage Christmas

Okey, I know that some of you don't want to be reminded of the big day yet. But here we go...youngest son said I could you use the layout for any occasion, just change the sentiment and the tags. The sentiment says "A Happy Christmas and A Happy New year from all of us to all of you" in Swedish.

Challenges:
Craft Stamper: Embossing resist
Cute Card Thursday: Pretty Papers
Everybody Art Challenge: Swirl
Simon Says Stamp: Clear (embossing powder and clear pearl)
ABC Christmas Challenge: N for Numbers, check the tag

Isn't this photo nice? I wish that all of them looked like this one!

Materials used:
Penny Black corner swirl stamped with embossing ink and embossed with fine clear powder on white cardstock.
The same procedure with the sentiment, can't remember the make.
The cardstock was coloured with different Distress inks, and stamped with Penny Black notes, some Perfect Pearl splatters and mist were added. Then a gentle swipe with a cloth to remove ink from the embossed areas.

MME Bella Bella design paper, Cuttlebug corner and tag dies, silver cardstock, Itsy Bitsy flower, ribbon from a top and silver thread from Mum's fiancé. The use the silver thread for fish lures, works well on cards too, hehe.

Thank you so much for visiting, hope you'll have a splendid day with some crafting. I'll take oldest son on a shopping spree, while the rest of the family plays computer games, they wont even notice we're away for a moment. I'll pay you some visits tonight, when I have a cuppa in front of me.

Warm hugs

Good Morning Starshine!

The earth says hello! Can you guess the film or the same musical the son appears in? It was a favourite when I was a teenager. Loved it!

I'm back with leftovers from the last card I made, pretty neat to use them for another card at once.

Challenges:
Southern Girls: You spin me round
Time Out Challenges: Fun In The Sun
Pixie's Snippets Playground: Use Snippets
Fab'n'Funky: Feels like summer
Charisma Cardz: Anything Goes
4 Crafty Chicks: Inspired by a song

Materials used:
Paper Smooches image and sentiment printed with brown ink, Promarkers for colouring ( I used three colours to get some depth), snippets for layering.

The background was made with Hero Arts large rain drop stamp, I stroke Distress inkpads on it, starting with Scattered Straw, then Tea Dye and at last Aged Mahogany. The large ink pads are great for that technique too, haven't been spending on the small ones yet.

The paper piece I cut out an oval from with a Nestie; was trimmed and mounted on 3 D squares onto a yellow cardstock strip I found.

Thank you so much for visiting sweeties, it really means the world to me. If your part of the world isn't cloudy check out for the super moon or perigee moon for the scientist, super moon has a better cling doesn't it?

A Place In The Sun

Hello sweeties, today I'm sending you some sunshine, or rain if you rather prefer it. I used a freebie sun from Paper Smooches and the raindrop background from Hero Arts, so as you see, you get both sun and rain today. The card making was really tedious today, I don't how many misprints, smudges and mishaps it took. I really wanted to keep it as simple as possible, so I didn't hide everything with embellies.

Challenges:
Less Is More: Earth Colours
A Blog Named Hero: Colour It In
CASology: Glow
Paper Smooches: Anything Goes

Materials used:
Paper Smooches image and sentiment printed with brown ink, coloured with Pro Markers, cut out with an oval Nestie and mounted on three other cut out ovals for more sturdiness and 3 D dots.

The background was made with the Hero Arts raindrop stamp; one of the corners was inked with Scattered Straw Distress ink, next part with Tea Dye and last corner with Aged Mahogany. It worked nice enough with the large ink pads, remember to start with the lightest colour. I've seen the same technique with the small Distress ink pads.

Thank you for visiting, it's much appreciated. Hope you can find yourself a place in the sun and have a wonderful day.

I was treated with a lovely trip to an sunny island last week so I'll stay in the craft room for a few hours, enjoying some crafting.
Warm hugs
