Hello Sweet Friend

Here's an easy one made from snippets only, I hade the cardstock ready to go, I'm in chock! My cards usually take days to create, I'm trying to picture myself as a suffering artist...but, nah, I'm a chocolate loving lady in her best age, hence the brown square.

Challenges:
Less Is More: Mostly Words ( I hope it isn't too busy)

Materials used:
Cuttlebug embossing folder
Technique Tuesday die, Promarkers to colour the paper strip I used for cutting
Panduro snippet and snippets for layering.

Oh, I need to show a lovely badge I received from the Snarky Sisters:

Thank you for visiting! Hope you've survived the Monday and will find something nice to do, like a bit blog hopping, it's calorie free!

A blue flower for autumn

My small garden lot is slowly getting ready for frost nights, some mornings have been very chilly. I've bought some flower bulbs and planted them so hopefully there'll be some tulips, crocuses and grape hyacints when spring comes. I went for blue and white colours and the thought hit me, are there any blue autumn flowers? The card got one!

Challenges:
ATCAS: Cuddly
Cute Card Thursday: Dies and Punches
Pixie's Snippets Playground: Use Snippets
Penny Black Saturday Challenge: Brown, Blue and White

Materials used:
Penny Black mouse stamped with black Memento ink and coloured with Promarkers.
I used the same blue Promarkers to colour a white snippet, it was punched with a MS punch.
The brown card stock and Panduro designer paper were in my snippet folder waiting to be used.
The circle was from a cotton pad package.

Thank you so much for visiting! Enjoy the weekend sweeties!

Tag It for Xmas

Friday at last and a fabby weekend for crafting and everything else that's been neglected during the week.

Challenges:
Christmas Cards All Year 'Round: Keep it crafty ( I hope there's enough craft)

Materials used:
Backing from something I bought, can't remember what. I cut out tags from it, embossed with two plates (Cuttlebug and Creative Expressions), distressed with Distress inks.
I stamped PB poinsettias with Brilliance ink and stars with Distress ink, splashed dots with Distress crackle paint.
The poinsettia is cut out with a Britannia die and the leaves with a Quickutz die, some Distress inks, Stickles, and half pearls added.
The sentiment says Happy Christmas in Swedish, can't recall the make. The background paper is DCWV.

Thank you so much for visiting and leaving encouraging words, it means a lot! Hope you'll have a wonderful weekend. I guess I have some house hold chores that need to be done, but I'll fill in the gaps with some fun.

A Cuppa Anyone?

Howdy folks!? I had in mind to make an autumnal card but ended up with a hot beverage card. My mind takes strange moves today. This small notecard reminds me of food markets in China, all those sacks with food and spices, even tea. I recently won the fabulous background stamp at Pixie's Snippets Playground, thank you so much Di...and parsnip of course! It's a terrific and huge stamp!

Challenges:
Addicted to clean and simple: Oriental (cup of tea)
Less Is More: Beverages
Pixie's Snippets Playground: This was a leftover paperstrip
Snarky Sisters: O is for One (colour)

Materials used:
Craft Stamper freebie stamped with Memento black ink onto a leftover piece of heavy card stock. The image was stamped onto printer paper and used as a mask, leaving the cup bare. The Just Rite burlap stamp was inked with different Distress ink and stamped. I made shadows with Promarkers.
I used a score board ro make embossed lines and stamped the background stamp again.

Thank you so much for visiting, it means the world! I'll have some exciting news in a few weeks, I wont tell yet.

The Creative Blog Hop

I'm a bit late with this post, I scheduled it, but must have forgotten something....better late than never though.

My tagger is the talented Liz at the Crafty Sunflower, go and check her lovely projects, I think we met at Pixie's Snippets Playground at first.

My Interview:
I'm a science teacher by heart and soul, and also in charge for the educational development at our small school. I've worked with small children up to the adults I meet nowadays. I believe that I learnt most from the 6 year olds, they didn't hesitate to tell their minds. I love my work as I can't never tell in advance what will happen during the day, when you work with people there's always something you learn or need to do.

Welcome to my craftroom:
My craftroom is in our walk in closet, not so girly of me, but there's room for a table with a sewing machine, paper cutter and the beloved Cuttlebug. Some shelves for boxes with embossing powders, dies and embellies. An Ikea drawer storage for all the stamps. I keep the papers on a shelf in a wardrobe where we also keep our clothes, I could do with some more place for the clothes though. Crafty stuff goes first!!!

What Am I working on now?
A card for the Less is more challenge, chocolate and mint, I got an idea, we'll see tomorrow if I succeeded.

How does my work differ from others in my genre?
I can't really tell, I like a clean look, colours and nature and I like to surprise by trying something new.

Why do I create what I do?
My work can make me feel that I've done enough for the day, but that's why I craft, it's me and all the lovely crafty stuff, it gives a lot of pleasure and peace of mind. I'm a better person if I get some crafting and exercise done and get my daily square or more of chocolate.

How does my creative process work?
Often I get inspiration from fellow bloggers and try to mimic something, often ending up with something completely different. So I'm like a crow, stealing lovely new shiny ideas and making arranging them in my way. Sometimes I success to case a card.

Would you like to be tagged and write a post Monday the 15 September? Tell me and I'll add your name to this post.

Warm hugs and love

Welcome Anastasia

Howdy?! It's time to welcome the lovely Anastasia, I've had her in my computer for a few months as I get distressed every time I need to print out an image and then colour it...with different colours. I wanted to show her as she's lovely, so I spent yesterday watching colouring tutorials and I found one where the fantastic card maker made a few small colouring faux paz and that bit encouraged me the most. She just carried on and said that it was nothing to worry about. So I felt quite silly and began to colour.

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Stamptember Blog Hop
Simply Create Too: Something New (the digi stamp and the designer paper)
Sweet Stampin' Challenge: The Great Outdoors (the weathered wood panel)

Materials Used:
Whimsy Stamps image coloured with Promarkers and mounted on 3D tape.
Vilda Stamps sentiment stamped with Distress ink, EK Success small corner adorner.
DQWV designer paper, ribbon and the white cardstock for printing and stamping are leftovers.

Thank you so much for visiting! It means a lot to me. I'll catch up with reciprocal visits as last week was a bit hectic. Hope you'll have a nice evening, I'll go out and admire the full moon, we're still having summer temperatures to enjoy. Imagine, it's all ready September and we have 22 degrees Celsius, isn't that grande!

The Seaside

Less Is More has a fabulous challenge this week; I do like to be beside the seaside. Try to say that fast ten times! Easier to make a card with it as a theme, I come from a nautical family so this fits perfectly to me and who doesn't enjoy the seaside? Or is there a too small amount of whiteness around the image. Ah, let me know if it is so!

For me it's luxury to spend time by the seaside so the ATCAS theme fits in too. CASology has the theme Under and spending time under a palm tree isn't too bad at all.

Materials used:
Kaisercraft image stamped with black Versafine ink, coloured with Distress inks. Some white, black and metallic Sakura highlights added.
The sentiment is Chocolate Baroque.

Thank you so much for visiting, hope you come back soon again.

Warm hugs
Maarit
