Show your face

Okay, today I'm showing something quite opposite from yesterdays thoughts of rainbows and chocolate. Life challenges us from time to time and even chocolate has it's limits. You know when you need to find your inner strength and believes to cope.

And if you wonder, no, everything is good in my life and I'm looking forward to celebrate the arrival of spring at Thursday evening. In Sweden we do it with bonfires and choral music. It's quite magic.

Challenges:
Art It Friday: Show Your Face
 Mixed Media World: Bright Colours
Pixie's Snippets Playground: Use Snippets (the flame and her dress)

Materials used:
Paper snippets from the scrap heap, Derwent charcoal, watercolour and pastel pens, Liquitex acrylic pens, Winsor & Newton watercolours, Sakura pens, golden Liquid Pearls, Distress crackle paint, Tilda acrylic paint, DQWV cardstock.

Here's my first portrait :) I do like her!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, we're blessed with a glorious sunshine today and the roast is in the oven awaiting the menfolk in my family. Take good care sweeties.

I can sing a rainbow too

Good morning sweet stampers! Hope you're well and if you're not well, I certainly hope that you'll feel better soon. If you like nursery rhymes and songs you'll be smiling in a minute. We're having a new adorable theme at Sweet Stampin', I can sing a rainbow. I listened to the song whilst crafting and I believe that the card reflects it. All those children singing!

Up, up and Away

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend. I've been tidying up and planting seeds at my tiny planting lot. So I went for flowers for my card, but I must say that the red colours aren't really that bright IRL. It must be the Glossy Accents reflecting some of the light. I'll see if I can take a better pic.

The sentiment is in Swedish and it brings warm Birthday Wishes.

Less Is More: Up, up and away

Materials used:
Penny Black image stamped with Water Can Archival ink, coloured with Newton & Winsor watercolours.
Vilda Stamps sentiment stamped with same ink.
Kaiser Craft half pearls ( love them).
EK Success green corner adorner and Bazzill card stock, 3 D squares.
The paper strips and the piece for the sentiment are from the snippet box. The envelope with white snippets is almost empty now, gasp, but there are a huge amount of other snippets :)

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated! I love to visit you to, even if it is the next weekend. The evenings after work seems to be so short sometimes.

Another brick in the wall

Hiya, I tried to make a very male one layer card. I got the idea whilst sitting at the bus home from work. There's a rather dull and dark bus stop underground with stone walls and graffiti.

Materials used:
Itsy Bitsy brick wall image stamped with Water Can Archival ink.
Vilda stamps splatter image stamped with Liquitex acrylic paints
Exchangeable alphabet stamps, stamped with black Archival ink.
Platinum Stickles for shadow, white Sakura pen to lift the "O", it was too dense.

Thank you for visiting!

Blowin' in the wind

Today I got a very splattery card to show. We've had fresh gale and I went to a gallery with a dear friend to see paintings of an artist, Emil Nolde, who's called the storm catcher. Perfect inspiration for these challenges:

One Layer Simplicity: Blowin' In the Wind
Crafty Calender: Add A Sentiment
Cute Card Thursday: Bonny Blues

I used a Dust-Off can to move the water colour around. I've been drooling over dry water colour mediums, DH found a shop that sells them in 700 g packages, ha ha, imagine the amount of cards I could create!

The sentiment says in Swedish:

If you really love something dearly, let it soar.
Enjoy if it comes back, if not, it wasn't meant to be.

Materials used:
Vilda Stamps sentiment, Water Can Archival ink, embossing powder, Newton & Winsor water colours, Cosmic Shimmer spray, Liquid Pearls, water colour paper and a dust off can.

Thank you ever so much for visiting! It's much appreciated.

It's darkest before the dawn

I searched google  to get inspiration for a black and white card and found a lovely piece, but when I began stamping it became something completely different. The sentiment says that it is always darkest before the dawn in Swedish.

I would like to join Crafty Calendar with this card, they want to see a sentiment.

Materials used:

Penny Black image and Vilda stamps sentiment stamped with black Archival ink.
Red Stickles at the first card.

I would like to enter Less Is More with this card, they want to see predominantly black and white. I can also see that I need to clean my stamp positioner, it leaves a thin line. Life is quite good when there are only small issues like that.

Thank you so much for visiting! Hope you've had a lovely Easter weekend, tomorrow it's all work again, but time to play a bit at the evening. See you soon again!
