Glorious Colours

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, and if not, lots of gentle hugs your way.
Here in Stockholm we're enjoying a glorious summer weather, at last I might say. Sometimes you have to wait for the good things in life. When I was little it was Christmas, especially admiring the decorated tree with the blurred colours and the vivid red during the dark winter nights.

Challenges:
Fab'n' Funky: Christmas
Snippets Playground: Use Snippets (the pine die cuts)

Addicted to Stamps: Photo Inspiration (the splash and something green from nature)

 Materials used:
Brushos (love them!), Golden Perfect Pearls, Wink of Stella, Star Dust Stickles, Kaiser Kraft half pearls, Changeables Alphabet stamps, Red Brilliance ink, clear embossing powder and clear embossing pen, watercolour paper.

I didn't have any red ribbon, so I coloured a white ribbon with two ProMarker pens to match the half pearls.

The sentiment says Merry Christmas in Swedish.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!

A Midsummer Dream

I've been playing with some neglected Tim Holtz stamps. I can remember that I saved to buy them and the excitement when they finally arrived. It was half the pleasure to wait for them.

I think the stamps are perfect for our new challenge at  Simply Create Too; Vintage, Old or Shabby Chic.

Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp: Favourite Technique or Product ( Distress inks, Tim Holtz and Penny Black Stamps)

Materials Used:
DQWV and Bazzill Cardstock
Tim Holtz stamps, the music notes are Penny Black ( I cut them apart from a larger stamp)
Distress inks, Archival black ink, platinum Stickles, golden Liquid Pearls
Unstitch tool for distressing paper edges, scraps for layering the image.

So now you might be wondering what this has to do with Midsummer? Well, today we celebrate Midsummer in Sweden with pickled herring, new potatoes, barbecue and strawberries for dessert. The chandelier is the festive part and the bird is for that the celebration is held outdoors and we might sing something too. The downside today is that it's raining and that we have 14 degrees Celsius. So wellies and mackintosh on!

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!

Time to grow

Hope you're having a lovely weekend. Here in Sweden we've been enjoying a Royal wedding, the happy couple was adorable. I've been happily tucked away in the crafty corner getting inky fingers, occasionally checking the wedding at TV. Simple joys of life! And a nice hideaway when pollen levels are high outdoors :)

Challenges:
Kim Dellow's Art It Friday: Show you're face
Moo Mania: Anything Goes  (second entry)
Art Journal Journey: Masculine/Feminine
Paint Party Friday

Materials used:
Liquitex gesso, acrylic pens and paint, Derwent watercolour and charcoal pens, Pin ball point pen

One of my classes had a discussion about male and female, like can a girl wear her hair short?! I believe our youngsters need to have a lot of patience to become and to show who they really are when they meet the world, so that different opinions don't weigh them down.

Thank you so much for visiting, it's much appreciated!
